Carry a Truck Tent with You for Camping Outdoors When You Travel!
Truck camping tents, truck tent, trailer truck, camping trucks
As a truck driver
who travels long distances, you never know where you are going
to sleep next! It need not always be in a sheltered place; many a time,
you find yourself on the great outdoors with only your truck for company.
No doubt, it gives you a great feeling of adventure, but you would still
like to sleep comfortably without any creepy crawlies or animals bothering
you! This is where a truck tent comes in real handy. You are camping outside,
but off the ground.
What exactly is a truck tent? It is a full-sized and regular tent that
fits snugly into your truck
bed. There is no gap left between the tent and the vehicle;
it completely covers the area. Thus, you will be protected from insects
and small animals (even large ones), as well as dirt and water on the
ground.
Whatever type of tent you purchase, it comes with detailed instructions
on how it is to be set up. Sometimes, there are illustrations too, to
help you understand better. If you peruse these guidelines thoroughly,
you should not find it difficult to set up your truck tent. Do consult
the shop owner or other experienced truck drivers regarding the right
size and fit for your truck. The tent should fit perfectly so that the
cloth is not damaged while setting it up, plus you remain safe inside
it. If the tent is not stabilized properly, it can break or even fall
off the truck while you are sleeping.
Buy a truck tent that fits within your budget; you do not really need
anything very elaborate. A necessary precaution to be taken just before
you go off to bed is to make doubly sure that your truck’s engine is well
and truly turned off. You cannot risk your vehicle moving and running
over someone accidentally.
Coming to the types of truck
tents that are available, there are two of them—
(1) The Regular Truck Tents are very simple to set up. They are so made
that they can fit into any truck bed if the tailgate is down. Of course,
the tailgate is not covered by the tent. Just like other tents utilized
for ordinary camping, these truck tents are manufactured from nylon. There
are zippers that afford easy access, as well as mesh windows to offer
good ventilation. Some specialized tents provide awnings as an additional
attraction. These awnings stretch from the top of the tent to the ground
behind the truck. While they come in very useful for families camping
out in the wild, a single individual might do without them. Even camping
groups use them only for eating and relaxing.
(2) The other kind of truck tents are known as Super Truck
Tents. If you own a big truck, you would need a big tent
with a few additional luxuries. After all, you are going to be away from
home for quite some time! These tents cover the truck bed as well as the
tailgate. So if you are in the taller category, you get more space to
relax in!
Once you get a few days at home after your tedious journey, you need
not put away the truck tent. You can still use it when picnicking at the
park or at the lakeside. It comes in handy for children who might be out
in the sun the whole time otherwise. Most of all, your children will treat
the interior as a magical place and thoroughly enjoy themselves!
